About Us

LumicIQ is an early-stage technology company building an AI-powered platform that transforms how physical operations are managed. We sit at the intersection of real-time data, artificial intelligence and operational decision-making — helping operators work smarter by surfacing the right information at the right time.

We’re founder-led, moving fast, and looking for someone to work in the field, integrating our platform with real-world data and the systems that produce it.

The Role

You’ll spend much of your time on site with customers and prospects, working in back offices, on operations floors, in server rooms and wherever the network equipment happens to live. The goal is to understand how a given operation actually runs, what systems it runs on, and what it will take to get our platform integrated with real data from those systems.

This is an engineering role rather than an account management one. You’ll be writing connectors, integration adapters, data mappings and prototypes, frequently on site and often the same day you work out what’s needed. What you learn in the field then comes back to the team so the reusable parts can be built into the core platform.

You’ll also be the person our customers associate with LumicIQ. Site managers, operations leaders and IT teams will form their impression of us based on how you handle yourself, so building trust with people who are busy and skeptical matters as much as the technical work does.

A core part of how we build is agentic coding using Claude Code, and that becomes more important in the field. You’ll often be working alone in an unfamiliar environment, and being able to direct and evaluate AI-generated code is what makes it possible to turn things around quickly.

Experience level is open. We care about what you can build, how you think, and how you handle yourself in front of a customer.

What You’ll Do

  • Work on site with customers and prospects, spending enough time in their facilities to understand their operations, workflows and constraints — including where the documented process and the actual process diverge
  • Map each customer’s system landscape and design the integration strategy that gets their data flowing into the platform
  • Build those integrations yourself in C# / .NET on Azure, including custom connectors, adapters, data mappings and edge deployments, using agentic coding workflows (Claude Code) to keep pace with what the field needs
  • Stand up pilots and demonstrate value quickly by configuring the platform, validating against ground truth and iterating until the operator agrees the output is right
  • Build trust on the ground: run training, answer the difficult questions, and be the person a customer calls when something doesn’t look right
  • Support the sales process with technical credibility through scoping conversations, live demos, proofs of concept, architecture reviews and IT security diligence
  • Own customer health after launch, including adoption, escalations and identifying where the platform can expand
  • Bring field learning back into the product by translating what you see into requirements and contributing the reusable parts of your work to the core platform
  • Turn each deployment into repeatable patterns, tooling and documentation so that the next one goes faster

Must-Haves

  • Strong foundational engineering principles, including system design, data modeling, and the ability to debug systems you didn’t build, can’t fully observe and can’t take offline
  • Proficiency in C# / .NET or a comparable object-oriented language, plus enough full-stack range to build a working interface when one is needed (React/TypeScript preferred)
  • Real integration experience across REST APIs, webhooks, message queues, file drops, flat files and poorly documented endpoints
  • Cloud platform experience, Azure preferred
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, both as development tools (Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor) and as platform integrations (API calls, prompt engineering, evaluation)
  • Strong communication skills. You should be able to explain the same system to a CIO and to someone who has run that operation for twenty years, and have both of them take you seriously
  • Comfort with ambiguity and limited support structure, since you will often be the only LumicIQ person on site
  • Willingness to travel roughly 50% and work on customer schedules, which can mean early mornings, evenings and the occasional overnight on site
  • Self-directed with high ownership. You don’t wait to be told what to build

Nice-to-Haves

  • Background in physical operations — warehouse, restaurant, retail — particularly if you have worked the floor yourself
  • Prior forward-deployed, solutions engineering, implementation or technical consulting experience
  • IoT, sensor, camera or edge deployments, along with comfort handling on-prem network conditions such as VLANs, firewalls and unreliable Wi-Fi
  • Experience with real-time / event-driven architectures (Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, Redis Streams, SignalR)
  • Experience with RAG pipelines, LLM evaluation, or tuning prompts against messy real-world customer data
  • Data visualization (D3, Recharts, Canvas/WebGL)
  • Previous startup or founding team experience
